Katie will join Prairie Wellness on June 15th.

I’m a down-to-earth, non-judgmental therapist who believes that real change starts with feeling heard, respected, and supported—just as you are! I work primarily with teens and adults (ages 13-30) who are navigating life’s stressors, whether that’s school pressure, identity struggles, relationship challenges, or mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, or substance use.

With 15+ years of experience supporting children and adolescents in both residential and community mental health settings, I have
specialized in adolescent substance use and mental health services and bring a deep understanding of the unique challenges young people face through adolescence and into adulthood.

My approach is collaborative and flexible. I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Attachment Theory, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)—tailoring our work together to fit your needs and goals. Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all: we’ll find the approach that works best for you!

I earned my undergraduate degree from The University of Iowa and completed my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University.

I accept Wellmark, most out of state Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans, Aetna, Cigna, HealthPartners, Optum/UHC, and Wellpoint. My self pay rate is $190 for your first appointment and $170 after that.

If you’d like to schedule a therapy session, or have questions about any services I offer, please use the form on this page to contact me.  Thank you!
