I am a caring therapist with a down-to-earth style who strives to create a nonjudgmental and supportive environment where people feel comfortable sharing their feelings. I strongly believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to assist others on their journey of self-reflection and healing. Together we will explore your life challenges and develop personal goals for lasting change.

I work with adolescents (16+) and adults.  I have specialized training in the areas of social and generalized anxiety disorders, OCD,  and insomnia.  I’ve completed extensive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) training, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) training with the International OCD foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute, and CBT-I training for individuals with insomnia.

I have extensive experience with trauma survivors. I utilize evidenced-based practices such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Compassion-Focused Therapy to help individuals overcome the effects of trauma in their lives.

I have worked in several substance abuse treatment settings treating adolescents and adults who struggle with alcohol and substance use disorders.  I  also see clients who need help managing stress and dealing with difficult relationships in their lives.

I received my undergraduate degree and my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Drake University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

I accept Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, most out of state Blue Cross Blue Shield plans and HealthPartners. My self pay rate is $185 for your first appointment and $160 after that.
