I believe in establishing a positive therapeutic rapport. I approach engagement with a strength-based, direct and humorous lens. I believe respect, safety and comfort during treatment is critical. Working with clients on identifying and establishing objectives towards individualized goals is a foundational component. Social validity is always honored; what is important to my clients is important to me.

I spent the first half of my career practicing within the educational system. I place a great deal of value on evidence-based approaches.  I work with teenagers 14 + and adults living with mood disorders, anxiety, phobias, OCD, chronic pain and eating disorders. Working with support partners of those living with mental and physical illness is also an area of focus. I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities that include, but are not limited to, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT). My approach to treatment is grounded in principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and I am trained in habit reversal and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERPT).

I received my bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University in communications in 1999. My Master of Social Work (MSW) was earned at St. Ambrose University in 2002. My board certification in applied behavior analysis was completed in 2010.

I accept Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, most out of state Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans, and HealthPartners.  My self pay rate is $185 for your first appointment and $160 after that.

If you have any questions about the services I provide, or would like to schedule a therapy session, please use the form on this page to contact me.
