Licensed Clinical Psychologist

I work with millennials (27+) and Gen Xers who are dissatisfied with the rhythm of their lives but may not know what to change or how to go about changing.  In my client’s professional lives, they are high achieving but think they aren’t “good enough” and generally feel overwhelmed and stressed.  In their personal lives, they believe they must take care of others before caring for themselves, which often means they don’t have energy left for themselves.  Many feel lonely even if they have friends and loved ones in their lives.  I am a queer-identified psychologist and many of my clients are also part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

I provide individual therapy that draws heavily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), process-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). These interventions are effective in treating anxiety and depression, as well as helping people manage stress, improve relationships, develop positive self-identities, and manage chronic pain. I have a down to earth, direct style and believe humor has a place in therapy.  I’m also known to use the occasional Star Wars metaphor in session.

I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from Northern Illinois University before completing a postdoctoral fellowship in LGBTQ Health.  All my training has been through programs accredited by the American Psychological Association.

I accept Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and most out of state Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans. My self-pay rate is $215 for your initial appointment and $195 for subsequent sessions.

If you have any questions about services I provide, or would like to schedule an appointment, please request an appointment online.
