Licensed Mental Health Therapist

My approach in therapy is about establishing connection with my clients  and validating their experiences. I enjoy creating a space where people feel respected, safe, and able to share anything that may be on their minds. The effect of having one’s feelings and thoughts acknowledged and understood is a significant component in working toward progress and relief of symptoms they struggle to manage. I also believe that therapy is a collaborative process.  I work together with clients and families to identify goals that enable them to feel empowered to make healthier decisions.

I work with teenagers 13 + and adults who experience anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, family conflict, and difficulty at different stages of life and the changes that come with them. I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS).   As a queer woman, I believe it is also important to openly provide services to individuals and families of the LGBTQIA+ community. I’m known for my direct, but compassionate, way of communicating with others and my healthy sense of humor that promotes connection with my clients and allows them to feel more comfortable in sessions.

I attended the University of Iowa and completed my Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2014.

I accept Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and most out of state Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans.  My self-pay rate is $185 for your first session and $160 after that.
