Mindfulness Classes

Scientific studies show how beneficial practicing moment-to-moment awareness can be for our physical and emotional health and well-being, especially during these difficult times. If you struggle with stress, worry, rumination, anxiety, low mood, emotional eating, insomnia, chronic pain, heart disease, diabetes, GI issues, or an autoimmune disorder, one of our mindfulness classes may help.

The Mindful Way Through Stress and Worry  ________________________________________________________________________

During this six week class, you’ll learn how to practice mindfulness meditation, or strengthen your practice if you already meditate. We’ll examine the causes and consequences of stress and worry and explore ways to change patterns of behavior that may be making things more difficult for you. You’ll also learn simple, practical mindfulness techniques to use throughout your day to help reduce the stress and worry so many of us are experiencing right now.

The class is experiential, interactive, and engaging.  It’s also a lot of fun.  During our 90 minutes together, there’ll be periods of guided meditation, didactic training, and group discussion.   You’ll be asked to practice mindfulness at home for 10-20 minutes each day, throughout the week.   You’ll also have informal mindfulness practices, like mindful eating, to try.  During class we’ll explore the successes and challenges you experienced practicing at home and review strategies to overcome any struggles you’re having.  At the end of class, you’ll receive resources and helpful tips to help you maintain your mindfulness practice.

You must be 18 or older to attend.

Mental health providers receive 9 CEUs for completing the class.

The cost of the class is $300.  Unfortunately, your health insurance company won’t pay but you may be able to use your FSA or HSA card.
